Suggest Treatment For Ear Infection And Hearing Loss

Male, age 77, ear infection caused hearing loss...saw 2 specialists, inflammation gone, but hearing still degrading...started in early April...hearing aids only suggestion now...but I understand hearing usually improves after infection gone....whaddya think?

Hi welcome to HCM...

Hearing recovering depend on which type of infection or inflammation there ...

The hearing loss of whether conductive or sensorineuronal is also to be ruled out for determining prognosis ...

If inner ear inflammation there than cochlea damage might lead permenant hearing loss ....

You have consulted Ent surgeon so they might have examined you well and giving conclusion...

So if no hearing recovery than hearing aid needed ....
