Chronic ear drainage indicates possibility of ear drum perforation with inflammation of middle ear mucosa.Testing the ear discharge for particular bacteria and their sensitivity towards antibiotics helps to choose specific ear drops. You might also need ear cleaning as this may flush out much of infectious load.
