General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

* The dry cough can be part of bacterial or viral infection, low immunity status hampering body immune response to fight the infection, altered lung capacity and other ratios of FEV1 to FVC and others.

Multimodality approach for this type of cough as

- inhaled or systemic bronchi dilator
- inhaled or systemic steroids
- intravenous antibiotics
- cough formulations and expectorant
- deep breathing exercises with intensive spirometry
- chest physiotherapy
- general measures of nursing care as a semi-reclining position and dietary care.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
