Suggest Treatment For Dog Scratch
Hi, i work at animal.hospital and this past monday a dog scratched my arm. I cleaned it very well. Last night i started having pain in my forearm and woke up in even more pain. I now have redness going down part of my arm. Could i have gotten an infection from the scratch? Its near the sidd where the scratch is?

It is possible that an infection could occur due to the scratch.
Swelling , pain and redness can also occur due to inflammatory response from the trauma of the scratch.
Your doctor would be able to assess the area to determine if an infection is present and if present, antibiotics would be needed.
