Suggest Treatment For Dizziness , Headache And Neck Pain

I have a friend whose husband has been having some issues that are stumping everyone. sweaty palms, major headache, dizzy, weakness, light headed, back of neck hurts. They have done a CT Scan and most lately a heart monitor (no results to this yet). He had heart surgery as a young man. When he has these episodes sometimes 3-4 a day he feels like he is floating and not in his right body/mind even though he knows everything that is going on.

Hello!

Thank you for asking on HCM!

I carefully read your question and understand your concern.

His symptoms could be related to epilepsy seizures of vertebro-basilar insufficiency.

I would recommend consulting with a neurologist for a careful physical exam and some tests:

-a brain EEG, to exclude possible seizures
-a Doppler ultrasound of the cervical arteries to examine the blood flow to the brain
-a cervical column X ray study to exclude possible chronic degeneration in the region
-a brain angio-MRI to examine better the intracranial vessels and the blood flow in the posterior cerebral circulation.

He should discuss with his doctor on the above issues.

Hope to have been helpful!
Greetings!
Dr. Aida
