Suggest Treatment For Discomfort Swollen Eye

I woke up this morning with my eye swollen but not goopy or swollen shut. It feels dry and almost like something is moving around side to side every-so-often in it. Should I be worried? I took an aleve and an allergy pill about 5 hours ago but still no relief. It is painful.

Pathologist and Microbiologist 's  Response
Hello,

Swelling of eyes accompanied by dryness could be due to allergy. I suggest you to consult your ophthalmologist for clinical assessment and thus diagnosis. In the meanwhile, you can use artificial tears for symptomatic relief.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shailja Puri, Pathologist and Microbiologist
