Suggest Treatment For Difficulty In Urinating, Enlarged Prostate, Fatigue And Rectal Bleeding

My husband just had a physical and the blood test shows that he has increased levels of creatinine. The doctor is having him do a urine test and suspects some kidney damage. He has also had the following symptoms: - difficulty urinating - slightly enlarged prostate - fatigue -rectal bleeding - slight heart flutters - difficulty sleeping - lack of appetite My husband is a 60-year old man of average height and weight, who exercises occasionally. He has been under a tremendous amount of stress for a couple of years now, which has affected our marriage. Any ideas on what s going on? Thank you.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

Noted your detailed history about your husband having lots of stress, difficulty in urinating, mild enlargement of prostate, increased creatinine, rectal bleeding and so on.
Since your husband is 60 years old I would advise him the following:
Complete renal profile.
Ultrasonography of abdomen particularly for Genitourinary system.
Blood tests with PSA.
Prostate biopsy if indicated.
Per-rectal examination and colonoscopy for evaluating the cause of bleeding.
General Check u including cardiac evaluation and so on.
All this will lead to a proper diagnosis and gives a plan for further management.
Psychiatrist opinion for stress and treatment will be of some more benefit.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. T. Chandrakant, General Surgeon
