Suggest Treatment For Diarrhea And Acid Reflux

Hey there, my friend has had diarrhea all morning with acid reflex and nausea, but her stomach pain has gotten worse and she can t seem to stop peeing. She has been on the toilet, peeing for roughly 30 minutes but it does not hurt when she pees. She is concerned, what do you think it is?

Pathologist and Microbiologist 's  Response
Hello,

Diarrhea can occur due to gastrointestinal disease, irritable bowel disease (IBS), inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) etc. I suggest you get a stool examination to know the probable cause of diarrhea. Infection can occur secondary to food poisoning. Food poisoning can cause acid reflux and nausea.

I suggest you consult your primary healthcare provider for symptomatic relief of diarrhea. In the meanwhile, you need to take light diet with plenty of fluids. A heavy and fatty diet may worsen the condition.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shailja Puri, Pathologist and Microbiologist
