Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi I m 34 years old n about 3months the doc told me that I have a 5inch cyst n my right ovary before I found out I was feeling numbness now it seem to be getting worse what s up with that I have a very unconterble feeling I have to keep pushing on it is that normal??
Hello and welcome to HCM, A 5 inch ovarian cyst can cause lower abdominal discomfort, menstrual disorders etc. However, numbness is unlikely to be caused by an ovarian cyst. There is probably some other reason for numbness and discomfort that you are experiencing. Ovarian cysts are not dangerous but a regular follow up is necessary to assess its size and development of any complication like hemorrhage, twisting etc. It is advisable to follow up the cyst at 6 monthly interval and it is unlikely to cause any ill-effect on pregnancy.
Thanks and take care Dr Shailja Puri
