Suggest Treatment For Cramp In The Small Intestine
Post Illio-anal pull through pain. My husband s surgery was in 1995. He is currently suffering with a small cramp in his lower small intestine, followed by a bowel movement and experiences burning pain in the anal sphincter, so much so he can hardly handle its intensity
Hi. Thanks for your query. Noted history related to your husband who had ileo-anal pull-through in 1995. The severe pain in the lower abdomen, small cramp in small intestine followed by bowel movement and burning in anal sphincter is suggestive of an inflammatory disease. This needs to be investigated. I would suggest him the following: - Stool tests for 3 consecutive days. - CT scan of the whole abdomen. Colonoscopy This will find the disease and the diagnosis will help for further management . He has to find the instigating and enhancing factors to get corrected and avoid all such foods and beverages that cause problems, No stress or anxiety. plenty of oral fluids, probiotics and multivitamins do help in recovery.
