Suggest Treatment For Cough With Expectorant And Slight Wheezing
Hi my daughter has cough with expectorant which is very thick and hard to take out.she us just one year 11 months.and there was a slightly wheezing.our dhctor prescribed levolin azethromycine even it dunt reduce much.now he asked to give omnicortil forte.is it safe to give it for 5days....?
As your child is experiencing productive cough and wheezing; an acute respiratory inflammation and bronchial hyper-reactivity is highly suspected. In such case antibiotic (Azithromycin) therapy and anti-inflammatory medication is justified; bronchial-dilators like Levolin should be used with cautions at your daughter's age. Aerosols with normal saline (0.9%) could be beneficial. You should consult the prescribing doctor on the immediate term effects of therapy and the clinical symptomatology.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
