Suggest Treatment For Cough, Wheezing And Acid Reflux

I choked on my ice tea. I could not breathe or cough. I was making like a loud wheezing sound but unable to talk at all. My son hit my back a few times and that did help out. I brought it up and continued to have large burps. I still burp often. Also a acid reflux about a half hour ago. However, I lost my voice for 10-15 minutes and it came back a little at a time. It still sounds like I am sick two hours later. My back, neck, and chest are very sore. Is this all normal? Why would I be so achy? I didn t know you could choke on liquid like that. Thank you for any help

ENT Specialist 's  Response
Hi

Welcome in HCM

I understand your concern, your clinical history indicates that you are having laryngopharyngitis with LPR.

this LPR is a product of hyper acidity, this develops because of slackness of cardio-esophageal sphincter of stomach.

My opinion is that you should -

1- Avoid spicy food.

2- Drink adequate water and fluid.

3- Morning walk and little walk after dinner is very helpful.

4- Take antacid with levosulpride.

Probably above treatment will help you but if possible than consult your ENT doctor to rule out other diseases having similar symptoms.

Thanks for consulting HCM.
