Suggest Treatment For Cough And Wheezing

For several months now I ve had a cough that won t go away..At night I weeze while I m lying down..I ve been to the doctor and had a chest Xray on my lungs, which turned out to be fine. The last time I went to the docs she said it was probably allergies. I am concerned because the weezing wakes me up at night and can t sleep without a bunch of pills.. I m 69 never smoked and have been healthy for most of my life.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi
Thank you for asking HCM.
I have gone through your query. Your problem can be due to allergy. Allergic to cold or dust can be the reason. Spirometry test will be helpful to rule out that. Sympathomimetic and corticosteroid inhalers will be helpful. Taking anti histamines like levocetirizine and mast cell stabilzers like monteleukast for prophylactic measure also will be helpful.
Hope this may help you. Let me know if anything not clear.
Thanks.
I find this answer helpful
