Suggest Treatment For Cough And Unclear Voice Diagnosed With Crohn S Disease
Last yr I was diagnosed with Crohns disease (I m 69). After trialing 4 other drugs (severe SE) Im now on Mercaptopurine 50mg daily. Im in remission, however Ive constant UR type symptoms(Cough, mucus, feeling like Im talking through a fog, loss of clear voice. My GP and GI Specialist seem puzzled and dont seem to see it as a common known SE. Im afraid to trial another drug given how awful flares are. Thankyou Ronda
However, an ENT specialist consultation is mandatory for this regard to best diagnose it and cure accordingly.
However, following guidelines will help you for better recovery
- gargles with salted lukewarm water
- cough lozenges as Benzyl pearls or others
- expectorant syrup with Guianphenecin or dextromethorphan
- prescription of antibiotics as azithromycin or else for rapid control of underlying respiratory tract infection
- control of blood sugar
- continue current medication of Crohn`s disease.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel
