Suggest Treatment For Cough And Cold In A Child

Hi, My 3 year old son has frequent problem of cold and cough. Is it fine to give him citrizine syrup and Asthalin for the same as soon as the sympton appears. For how long, the same can be given. Does it have any affect on future immunity of the child. My doctor says the cough effect remains for 10-15 days, after the child is cured. In this period, should Asthalin or Actifed be given .Please advise

It depends on what kind of cough your son has. If there is wheezing and it is an allergic cough, Asthalin might be better. If it is an irritatory cough with dry mouth and no phlegm, asthalin will not function. In such a case, Actifed D will be a better choice.
