Suggest Treatment For Cold, Severe Cough And Fever

Yes, a few weeks ago I had a bad cold chest infection. I did run fever up to 101. but only at night. I would take 2 or 3 aspirins when the fever came up and it would go down within an hour. During the day I would not have any fever. I did have a cough. I have been free of fever for at least 2 weeks but the cough is lingering. Is there anything I can take that will help get rid of this cough?

As per your complain it seems that you are suffering from upper respiratory tract infection and the symptoms of bad cold, congestion, fever and cough is due to it..
As it is a viral infection it will resolve once the virus will complete its cycle in human body..

As of now you can start with supportive treatment to relieve the symptoms like:
-Gargle with a warm saline solution that is by mixing 1 teaspoon salt in a glass of water and warm it to make a luke warm solution..

-To relieve cough you can take cough suppressant containing Dextrometorphan and cough expectorant containing Gueifenesin..

-Take a combination of decongestant like Phenylephrine, mucolytic like Ambroxol and anti allergic levocetrizine and another combination of Acetaminophen and Ibuprofen..

-Chew a Vitamin C pellet daily..

-Do steam inhalations..

-Avoid spicy and chilled foods..

-Sip on warm water throughout the day..

-Do warm compresses over chest..
