Suggest Treatment For Cold And Ear Pain In A Child
My daughter she is 5 yr old.. she is having cold for last 6 days and her ears are paining from last 3 days.. i m giving her maxtra syrup and candidbiotic ear drops for her ears... but no relief.. still pain is there in her ears and cold is still there.. her voice has become heavy and she speaking from her nose now... pls suggest what should i do..
I am of the opinion that according to the medications mentioned you are giving her antihistamine syrup and ear drops (antibiotic and antifungal). This may not be of great help.
She needs to be evaluated by a pediatrician as she could have adenoids or inflamed tonsils due to upper respiratory tract infection. She needs systemic (Tablets) antibiotics, therefore, you should consult a paediatrician at the earliest.
For now, you can put nasal saline drops one drop on each nostril three times a day to clear the blocked nose. It will be helpful to the child.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Riyanka Chail, General & Family Physician
