Suggest Treatment For Chronic Sinus Infection And Migraine
I suffer from a chronic sinus condition with bad migraines often like daily especially in the mornings. I have high blood pressure and I get allergy injections bi-weekly for my indoor and outdoor allergies. I have been prescribed atenolol/chlorthalidone 50/25. Recently I was told that it s a betta block and can t continue to get my allergy shots, I m also allergic to asprin.
There are many comments. Let me just point out that migraine headaches and sinus "conditions" are often confused with each other.
It would be highly unusual that daily sinus congestion (true congestion proven by CT of the sinuses showing clear air/fluid levels) could be present without some degree of relief using standard allergy or antibiotic treatments.
It could be that you are really suffering from chronic migraine headaches and that treatment should be directed at that as the cause which would require more robust prophylaxis as well as specific ANTI-MIGRAINE therapy for you to have a resolution to this daily event.
I would recommend checking in with a headache specialist or neurologist for another opinion on your daily morning headaches.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Dariush Saghafi, Neurologist
