I had a stroke 2 years ago at 46 . I m s fit female with no family history but I ve been left with a weskness in my left lung and suffer infections constantly . I tKe steroids and inhalers but always have a cough . They say I had a blood clot which caused the stroke but do not k is where from. I still go to the gym and train hard , I had originally lost all of my left side but you would not know . Tonight in s spin class I coughed so hard I felt a pop in the bottom of my lung followed by a shatp pain travelling upwards I am concerned it could have been another clot and am now frighten to sleep . I just have a dull ache in my back - bottom to the shoulder blade . Should I be worried , I am alone !!
Since you have history of chronic cough, you should get it treated. Chronic cough may be indicative of stress / anxiety that triggers Asthma. Sinus infection, COPD, acid reflux or cold can be the other medical conditions that may cause such symptoms. Get clinically examined by a GP, get tests, investigations (sputum / swab) and imaging tests done to detect the pathology that should be treated at the earliest.
To relieve cough, you can take antihistamines at bed time. Common antibiotics for lung infection are Azithromycin, Penicillin, etc. You should consult a local GP, as medicines/injections need to be closely monitored. Get treated at the earliest. If required you will be referred to a cardiologist for further treatment. Stay away from addictions if any. Take adequate rest and nutritious food.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
