Sudden onset of burning jolt, like lightening upper left pectorial proximal to sternum. left arm went numb and progressed to painful to touch. Went to ER, EKG came back fine, Troponin neg, WBC WNL etc etc Released from Emergency Department, pain is reproduced by bending forward, sense of heaviness on the chest and feels like the back of my throat is being crushed. Thanks for your question on HCM. Since your cardiac work up is normal, I suggest you to get done chest x ray to rule out pulmonary cause.
If this is also normal than it must be due to muscle pull and muscular pain.
Please follow these.
1. Avoid heavy weight lifting and movement causing pain.
2. Take good painkillers and muscle relaxants.
3. Apply warm water at pain site
4. Wear chest pain for minimal mobilisation of affected part.
