Hi,
Welcome to Healthcare Magic.
I had gone through your question. I can understand your concern.
Because of strong acidic nature it can cause chemical injury to respiratory mucosa. It can cause mucosal irritation and inflammation.
I recommend the following.
1) As soon as you expose to any acid you should rinse with large amount of running water.
2) If eyes are exposed they should be flushed with water for at least 15 minutes.
3) Get some fresh air out side and breath calmly.
4) Clinical examination by doctor if symptoms persist.

Hope i have answered your question. If you have any questions, I am happy to help.

Wish him a speedy recovery and good health.

Regards,
Dr Paparaja S
