Should I go see my doctor if a small 2nd degree burn on my hand now is smelly, but has no drainage? I burned the back of my hand on a toaster oven 6 days ago. Some of the top layer of skin was gone after the initial burn, and a few days later a yellow-ish covering grew over it. It was dry and did not have any drainage. This covering seemed to spread, and only today did I think to smell it, and it did have an off/foul smell, though I could only smell it when my nose was close to it. After looking up how to clean a burn, I cleaned the wound with Hydrogen Peroxide, and used a sterilized tweezer to remove the yellow, it mostly all came off in one piece revealing pink skin underneath. I then put neosporin on it. The area still smells as it did before. How should I care for this area? Should I make an appointment to see my doctor?
