Hi..
Can understand your concern..
As per your complain bumps on the back of the tongue seems to be due to enlarged circumvallate papilla which contains
taste buds..
The enlargement of the papilla can occur due to infection in the papilla caused by some bacteria or virus..
It can also be due to eating very hot food leading to inflammation of the papilla and causing swelling as well as raspy voice..
As you have raspy voice and throat hurts it means there is infection in the
larynx due to bacteria/virus and same can be causative of bumps on the back of tongue..
The raspy voice and bumps can also occur due to
acid reflux from stomach in case if you have reflux problem..
I would suggest you to consult an oral pathologist and get evaluated and in case it is due to bacterial infection antibiotics can be helpful..
In case of viral infection
antiviral drugs are of no significance as they do not cure the infection.. Salt water gargles and sufficient hydration is relieving..
In case of acid reflux
Proton pump inhibitors like
Pantoprazole 40 mg can be relieving..
In case it is due to excessive hot foods
cold fluids and sucking ice pops can help..
Hope this information helps..
