Suggest Treatment For Bump On Back Of Tongue

I am just getting over a head cold and still have a dry cough which wakes me up at night. I am taking Mucinex and coughing up phlegm. I am 64, 5 3 , and weigh 150 lbs. I just noticed that there are bumps on the back of my tongue. Do you know the cause of these and if I can get rid of them?

Thanks for your query, I have gone through your query.
The bumps at the back of the tongue can be a enlarged circumvallate papilla. This can occur secondary to any bacterial or fungal infection or trauma. Consult a oral physician and get it evaluated. Mean while you can take a course of antibiotics like amoxicillin(if you are not allergic), do saline gargling.
I hope my answer will help you, take care.
