Suggest Treatment For Bruising And Swelling On Eyebrow Bone

A week ago I fell snowboarding and hit my head very hard on my eyebrow bone. I had severe bruising and and swelling . The swelling has mostly gone down but it is still very bruised. Now that the swelling has gone down some, there is a hard lump that moves around when I touch it and is still very painful. Im worried that the bone might be chipped , and that scar tissue will form and my face will be permanently swollen.

Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain it seems that due to fall and hitting the eyebrow bone there has been trauma to the soft tissues over the area and also there has been ruptured superficial blood vesesl H leading to accumulation of blood into the soft tissues and causing bruising and hematma formation that appears as a lump..

At times the hematoma gets localized and encapsulated and forms a firm hard lump that can take a long time, say a few months to resolve, but it generally tend to resolve itself..

In your case also the lump seems to be due to a firm hematoma and you need not to worry as it will resolve gradually..
Pain is due to inflamed soft tissues overlying it..

You should do alternate warm and cool compresses over the lump..
Apply Heparin gel as it help in faster disintegration of the hematoma..
Take anti inflammatory painkiller like Ibuprofen.

In case if it worsen consult a General Surgeon and get evaluated and an x ray can be taken to check for bony fractures and will be treated accordingly..

Hope this information helps..

Thanks and regards.
