Suggest Treatment For Bronchitis

my son - 6 yr -has bronchitis & doctor has asked him to continue Motek. We are giving him from last one & half month. Can you please advice is their any side effect? how long should continue? If are in fear if we will not give , he may infected again & sick. Pl. advice.

I can understand your concern.
Montek is having montelukast. It is anti allergic drug.
It should be given only in allergic bronchitis.
It is not the mainstay of treatment.
Main treatment for bronchitis is inhaled bronchodilators and inhaled corticosteroid (ICS).
Combination of antihistamine and anti allergic drug is also advised.
But Montek alone is not sufficient.
So better to consult another doctor and discuss all these and start appropriate treatment.
