Suggest Treatment For Bronchitis In An HIV Positive Person

I m hiv positive and my cd4 count was 4 and now I m right over 200. I ve come to find out my apt has mold and mildew and my property manager refuses to move me. I went to the ER and was diagnosed with bronchitis. Should I be worried with my immune system.

Hi,

Can you mention your symptoms? The CD4 count is on the lower side. But since it has improved from before, let us expect to improve further with treatment. CD4 below 200 makes us susceptible for opportunistic infections. So its just borderline. If symptoms are not severe, oral drugs might be enough. Your doctor will discuss in detail.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Muhammed Aslam T. K., Pediatrician
