Suggest Treatment For Breathing Problems

my mom is in her 70s shes already on breathing treatments, when I came home from work today she told me shes going to the Dr tomorrow for a reg appt. But is going to ell her Dr how she cannot even walk fro her bedroom to the kitchen without being winded by the time she gets there which is only 20 n30 feet at the most I m wondering if I should take her to urgent care tonite instead of waiting for her apt tomorrow?

Hello dear, thanks for your question on HCM.
I can understand your situation and problem.
Your mother is having very severe degree of shortness of breath.
In my opinion you should take her to the emergency room and start injectable bronchodilators and nebulization treatment.
She may need intravenous steroids too.
Infection is the most common cause for worsening of underlying lung disease.
So get done chest x ray to rule out infection.
Also get done PFT ( pulmonary function test ) to know the severity of the disease. As treatment of breathing difficulty is basef on severity only.
So don't wait for appointment, take her to Emergency room and start appropriate treatment.
