Hello,
You can try to use a floss threader which allows you to place the threader close to the gum line and then pull the floss upward. You may be able to loosen this. Use a non shredding floss such as a teflon or thin wax coated floss. There are other inter proximal cleaners that look like picks that you may find helpful as well. If you can apply gentle pressure, you may help loosen it. Be careful that you do not break something between your teeth. Teeth are very sensitive to pressure and you do need to have this removed to avoid developing a gum infection. Continue to rinse the area well. You may feel some discomfort even after the irritant is removed. I suggest a follow up visit with your dentist to make sure everything ha sheen removed even if you feel that you have been successful. You can give this a try, but consider a visit to your dentist.
Your dentist can use scaling tools to remove something caught between your teeth. Sometimes there will be a need to apply mild pressure between the teeth with a wooden wedge or use s dental strip that can act like sandpaper.
Thank you for your inquiry.
