Suggest Treatment For Bleeding From Head After Injury

i was riding mt bike and the chain broke making me unable to slow down. I ran into the curb, up a brick wall, through bushes and hit my head on a large potted plant. The pot broke my fall and broke in half. once I got up my head was bleeding from the right side above and forward from the ear. What should I do ?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

I suggest to apply pressure over the wound with your hand. You can later apply Betadine ointment once the bleeding has stopped. Clean the blood with clean water and then apply the ointment. If the wound is big enough after cleaning, you may have to go at the emergency room.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
