Suggest Treatment For Bleeding Between Periods, Severe Pain In Pelvis And Chest

I am a 23 yo female. I had a regular period around the beginning/middle of december. Then right before christmas i started again. It was different, almost a reddish/orange in color, and kind of slimy and lasted a little over 2 weeks. Then i started having SEVERE pelvic pain that wraps all the way around to my kidneys. About where i would estimate my ureter to be. The pain got more like a sharp stabbing pain towards my kidneys. The pelvic pain almost feels like intense period cramps or labor pains. Another symptom that originated around the same time is broken rib like pain in my right side. A sharp pain when i take a deep breath, bend over, move the wrong way, or when i get up and start moving around in the mornings. And there have been a couple instances of the after surgery gas-like pains in my shoulder/collar bone area. During those instances the pain in my shoulder/collarbone were like those gas pains after surgery and would occur with the rib pain when i took a deep breath, etc. The last known related symptom is the vaginal discharge. It started as what i thought was going to be yet another period, i bled, mostly small dark clots, for 1-3 days. My periods have always normally lasted from 5-7 days. After the bleeding stopped, i had heavy, constant, clear, watery like discharge. I would SOAK my underwear in about an hour or two. Just clear watery type fluid. Then the discharge developed into a thicker yellow/green mucousy like discharge. Which is also heavy and constant. I havent noticed a foul or odd odor. Just have to wear a pad 24/7. Also, when the discharge began i wore tampons 24/7 to hold the discharge, i changed it regularly, i switched from tampons to pads bc i was afraid the tampons could cause infection, or if theres already infection would make it worse. In the last couple weeks ive also had touble with making a bowel movement. I find it painful to push . Sometimes if it isnt painful, it seems like the muscles i need to use just wont work. And idk if its any relation, but about a week or two ago i developed a severe, what i believe to be, sinus infection. With thick yellow/green mucous. At the beginning of this whole ordeal, around new years, i also had a couple episodes of pain in my abdomen that felt like bloating or gas pains, and each episode always resulted in me vomitting which would privide relief. Now, every 4 hours im having to keep 800 mg of ibuprofen and 1200 mg of tylenol in my system just keep the pain level under control. If im late by even an hour the pain becomes excruciating, and is 10x harder to get back under control. Now a little background. I have a 5 year old child, i had the mirena put in in may 2010. It was supposed to be removed june of 2015 but i have no insurance and it costs $400 to have it taken out. So the device is still inside me. Also i have had my galbladder and appendix removed. I know i will probably have to take a trip to the er for this one, but any information will be helpful! Thanks!

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Thank you for your query.
I am sorry that you are in a lot of pain.

From what you have said about your ordeal, I thin you may have an infection of the genital tract , possible your uterus.
Displacement of the Intrauterine device is possible and if that is the case, it is mandatory to rule out perforation.

the dosage of medication you are on is too high. please consult your physician/ OBGYN immediately for safer pain management.
I understand how the finances can influence your decision but it is vital that you understand that continuing like this will only make things worse.
I recommend consulting your physician and OBGYN to get your IUD out and find out what is causing your symptoms.
hope this helps.
wish you good health.
please feel free to get back to us if you need further assistance.
