Suggest Treatment For Black Bruise With A Knot On Left Leg

I have a pretty good bruise with a knot under it on my left leg to the right of my shin. It doesn t hurt its just annoying . there is no heat in it and frankly, I don t remember if I hit it or not. I take aspirin daily so I don t think its a clot. The bruise is almost black and about 2-3 the knot is same length. Should I be concerned and what can I do to treat the swelling?
