Suggest Treatment For Bipolar Disorder

I was just prescribed 50 mg Seroquel for a manic attack I am bipolar 1 and also have bpd. I had a bad sedating experience on another antipsychotic drug. I was afraid of being to sedated on 50mg so cut the pill in half to 25. I have to wake up during the night due to the fact of having to let animals out. I have no one here to help me do that. Would 50mg allow me to be aware and get up during the night. I have a doctor appointment this week, I do not want to tell him that I didn t take the 50, just tell him 25 was sufficienct, afraid I guess do not want to go up if 25 works.

Hello,
I understand your concerns with antipsychotic drugs.
Seroquel can cause even heavy sedation at 50mg. The sedation casued by seroquel does not depend on dose. It can vary from individual to individual. so if you feel that seroquel 25mg is sufficient for you, you continue with same dose.
thanks.
