I am taking diltizem 120 mg at bedtime for atypical angina and moderately-severe mitral valve stenosis. I am waiting for PMBV procedure. Symptoms include lightheadedness, shortness of breath, occ. atrial run and/or multiple PACs. Recent cath and echo indicated mild pulmonary arterial pressures, every elevated gradients left heart, extremely enlarged left atrium. ? ... I am experiencing very low BP and feeling light headed and very tired. I am thinking that the diltiazem is the cause ... BP this morning avg 90/56 HR 58 Can I stop the diltiazem?
You may reduce the dose of diltiazem to 90mg. But if you're suffering from multiple ectopics then you may take alternative medication to control ectopics.
In case of pulmonary hypertension, usually blood pressure is low only. Please consult with your physician he will reduce the dose according to your condition or treat you with alternative medicine.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
