Suggest Treatment For Asthma And Shortness Of Breath

I am suffering from Physical activity induced Asthma(or shortness of breath without weezing). I dont feel shortness of breath while any activity like climbing, walking, etc..., but when i come to resting phase immediatly after any physical activity, i feel shortness of breath for couple of minutes or more. Then i feel normal. Sometimes i get severe asthma attack with weezing in cold conditions(like cold winter, a/c, allergy, etcc). I am taking Seroflo 250/50 (eq advair) 2 puffs 2 times daily and 2 puffs of Duolin. Doctar say i have both Asthma and COPD. Pl suggest some good treatment in detail to get rid of or minimise the problems of asthma/copd. Thanks

Hello,

You already use glucocorticoid plus LABA and Ipratropium and SABA, they are proven more effective in controlling asthmatic symptoms. If overall less effective we may need to add leukotriene modifer (eg, montelukast, zafirlukast) to low dose inhaled glucocorticoids. We rarely initiate theophyline in the modern treatment of asthma. Your doctor may need to evaluate your asthma stage mild moderate or severe. Patient education is very important to all patient.

You should get personalized asthma option plan, which describes how and when your medications should be used, as well as how to recognize an exacerbation and make appropriate adjustments in medications. If heavy activity is induce shortness of breath you should avoid it and try to figure it out what is the trigger that can cause you shortness of breath from asthma.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
