Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hello, I have a skin tag on my arm, near the underam area, and would like to remove it. I m considering ordering a tag removal kit from Amazon (it uses tiny bands and the vendor claims it works in several days). Do you have any advice on this method, or any other safe at-home method I can try? Thanks in advance for your input
Hi, Thanks for posting in HCM. Skin tags present in different parts of the body does not cause any harm. However, sometimes it may cause discomfort or may give rise to problem when they get infected. It would be always advisable to get it excised under medical supervision. If done otherwise, you may land up in complications associated with infections. Depending on its site and size, it can be easily removed permanently by means of electro-cautery, which is a minor surgical procedure, done on out-patient basis under aseptic precautions and local anaesthesia. Kindly consult Dermatologist in this regard for assessment and management. Hope the information provided would be helpful. All the best.
