Suggest Treatment For An Elderly Person With Osteoporosis And GERD

My mom is 89 yrs old and is very stooped over now and has osteoporosis. She was on a medication for this many years ago that worsened her GERD and she had to stop it ( It might have been an inhaled med ) . Are their current meds that would not bother her GERD and help her Osteoporosis ?

Hello,

Yes, newer osteoporosis treatment in the form of injection is now available. Zolendronate or ilandronate injection can be given under supervision, once a month for osteoporosis.

It is not showing any side effects like GERD (gastroesophageal reflux disease). So consult an orthopedic doctor and discuss this newer treatment for your mother.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
