Hello,
Thanks for writing to Health Care magic, I am Dr , Muhammad Ahmad , I have read your
question closely, I understand your concern and will be helping you with your health related problem.
According to your description of the event and what x-ray impression, in my opinion There are very few chances that she will have to undergo surgery. Surgical fixation is usually done in the displaced fracture or a
compound fracture which can not be managed without surgery otherwise non invasive techniques are preferred.
Doctor must have asked for the
CT scan to see minor details of the are and damage to surrounding structures and even the bone itself. This might help to get some help in suggesting the treatment plan and what care should be taken but surgical fixation is not much expected according to the scenario.
I would suggest you and your wife to stay calm and expect a good report. Take good rest and follow instructions of the doctor religiously.
I hope this answered your question, If you have more queries I am happy to answer you.
Regards.
Dr.Muhammad Ahmad
