Suggest Treatment For Alcohol Addiction

A man I ve been dating for three years who has been an alcoholic for 40; has been sober for ten years. I often get mixed messages from him (that are contradictory) and I want to know is this a form of denial? He has other addictions that he has overcome (not drug related), but do addicts ever have full recovery?
