Suggest Treatment For Abdominal Pain In The Kid

My 6 year old son was complaining of pain behind the belly button on and off for about a week. For the last two days he s said it s constant, but not bad enough to keep from playing. This evening he had trouble starting to urinate. I m planning on making an appointment with his pediatrician tomorrow. Do you think it s okay to wait?

Hello and welcome to HCM,
Young children have limited symptoms for various ailments.
Pain in abdomen and trouble in starting to urinate suggests a urinary tract problem.
Trouble in initiating urination in young child could be due to presence of some kind of obstruction like posterior urethral valves.
However, this is just one possibility out of many possibilities.
Thus, an assessment by a pediatrician is necessary for clinical assessment, investigations and thus management.
An ultrasound abdomen may also be required to assess the status of abdominal organs.

Thanks and take care
