I noticed a soft lump in part of my naval. It was not noticable when I lay down and/or sit up--just when I stand up. I suspect some type of hernia. My bowels move good and have no problem; however, feel full after eating about 1/2 to 3/4 of a meal. It is sore at times when sitting down and bend over. Was just curious if could be a hernia. I am about 5 2, female, and even tho fairly proptioned, I do weigh around 210.
Hi! Good evening. I am Dr Shareef answering your query. Yes this seems to be a hernia from your history which could be confirmed only by a clinical assessment. I would advise you to consult a general surgeon in your area for an appropriate management of the lump. Till then you could go for an anti spasmodic and a proton pump inhibitor for a symptomatic relief.
I hope this information would help you in discussing with your family physician/treating doctor in further management of your problem. Please do not hesitate to ask in case of any further doubts.
Thanks for choosing health care magic to clear doubts on your health problems. I wish you an early recovery. Dr Shareef.
