Suggest Treatment For A Rotator Cuff Tear After Injury

I have swelling above my right breast, under the armpit along with shoulder pain. Was getting treatment for shoulder pain that consisted of cortisone shots and pt plus anti inflammatories. I didn t notice the pronounced difference before but it extends from my collarbone down to my breast. Its not sore to the touch or anything like that. Wondering now if my shoulder paid was something else. Had an MRI and that just showed degeneration in my rotator cuff - nothing major.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Shoulder/rotator cuff pathologies can cause referred pain to armpits. However, since you notice a swelling in the breast, it is important to get checked out. Clinical breast examination and mammography are required initial screening evaluation. Please follow up with your primary provider.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Lekshmi Rita Venugopal, General & Family Physician
