Suggest Treatment For A Painful Lump On The Throat

I have a funny feeling under my tongue for the last two days. It feel like there is a lump, but I cannot see any form of lump or swelling in the mirror. There is a loose fleshy piece under my tongue which I can feel with the tongue itself. Should I worry?

Hi Dear ,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have painful lump on the throat which could be due to enlargement of cervical lymph node. It could be due to other systemic conditions such as acid reflux, reactive hyperplasia, lymphoid hyperplasia , and malignant pathology. Need not to worry. Maintain proper oral hygiene. Do warm saline gargles. Avoid excessive cold carbonated drinks. I would suggest you to visit ENT specialist once and go for examination. You should go for ultrasound study to find out extent of lesion. You should go for fine needle aspiration cytology or biopsy of that lump to find out the nature of lesion. You should take few preventive measures such as keep head side high and take small meals rather than large meal. You should not stay empty stomach for longer duration. You can start treatment after proper diagnosis.

Hope your concern has been resolved.
