Suggest Treatment For A Painful Lump On The Knee

A few days ago I was running and jumped down a staircase. When I landed my left knee gave out and I have had a limp since. My knee does not extend all the way and does not flex past 90 degrees. When I attempt to flex my knee I feel pressure/ pain and there is a visible bump that protrudes on the lateral side of my knee beside my knee cap only when I attempt to bring my leg toward me. There is no popping or locking with the motion I do have. I m supposed to have an appointment with orthopedics in 20 days but I m worried that will be too long to go without knowing. Then it will be weeks before I get an mri if it gets that far.

HI
Well come to HCM
I really appreciate your concern, knee joint is highly vulnerable for injury because it is the fragile one and in case of injury it is immediately sent for investigation because it could be fracture part or it could meniscus tear, hope this information helps.
