Hi,

Shin is an area where tibia bone lies just under skin and so direct hit can injure bone and so pain is unbearable. Mostly ice compress, rest, pain medicine like Ibuprofen twice a day after food suffices, Yet, in case, pain is increasing along with swelling after 2-3 days of home care. You should consult a doctor to exclude possible fracture.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
