Suggest Treatment For A Large Painful Lump On The Anus

Hi, My boyfriend who is 46, has a large swollen mass right around his anus. he actually has 2, one large one on the left side and a smaller one on the right. It is not red or pink or blue or purple in color. Just normal flesh tone. He has a lot of pain and it is tender to the touch. It was very painful when he would sneeze or cough, but that is not so bad now. He has had this for about 5 days now. just very swollen and painful. And it is painful to deficate. He does not have a fever or an other symptoms. could it be hemmorhoids even though it is regular flesh tone?
