Hello Doc , My wife recently got an HPV virus because of me i feel very bad for her. Doc advice her for PODOWART 20% although i dont have any symptom of this virus. I just wanted to know should i go for PAP Test as doc has not advised me. How much time does it take warts to go away? Should we live normal sexual life. am very much worried abt her. Pls help me
Your wife needs to continue treatment since the virus remains in the body for a long period.
In your case, no clearcut investigations are available for males to confirm HPV. In case of any bumps or warts on the genital region, local and oral antiviral medications should be taken.
You may have to avoid intercourse until the treatment regimen is completed. Contact your physician if you have any warts around your genital region.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr. Saranya Ramadoss, General & Family Physician
