Hello
As you mentioned that your son is having PCR negative ,but
antibodies present , so at this point , we can't say that your son is
HIV negative .
Your son is also taking anti viral treatment and on anti viral drugs , since the son is adopted ,so responsibilities are also more , so I am writing in detail ,so that you will keep few things in your mind about your son's treatment and plan:
Measurement of the C D 4+
T cell count and the level of plasma HIV
RNA are important parts of the routine evaluation and monitoring of HIC-infected individuals .
The CD+4 T cell count is generally accepted indicator of the immunologic competence of the patient with HIV infection, and there is a close relationship between the CD+4 T cell count and the CLINICAL manifestations of
AIDS.
As for example patients with CD4+ Tcell counts
If count is So patients should have their CD4+ T cell count measured at the time of diagnosis and every 3-6 months thereafter.
According to DHHS practice guideline a CD4+ T cell count Now , please note one thing:
While CD4+ Tcell count provides information on the current immunological status of patient , the HIV RNA level predicts what will happen to the CD4+ T cell counts in near future .
So measurement of plasma HIV RNA levels should be made at the time of HIV diagnosis ( as they did in your son case) and every 3-4 months after in treated or untreated cases .
So according to present situation , regular treatment and monitoring is important not only diagnostic but also clinical .
Hope you will understand in better way.
