Suggest Treatment For GERD, Belching And Acid Reflux
Hi, I have been taking Acephex for about 25 years & in the PM I take Ranidine. Yes, I do have GERD and if a PP is not taken I have stomach issues. About 1 a month I have to sleep with my head & upper body raised for most of the PM. My Gastroentoliges tells me my stomach has risen high in my body & would like to lower it and seal off my hiatal flap (?). This would leave me unable to belch. I am 75 years od& would prefer continuuing the medication as long as biopsys do not show cancer. Is my medication plan most likely lead to other bodily problems? What direction would you recommend for someone in my situation? Thanks in advance for your thoughts. Lou De Carolis Ph.D.

Hello,
Your symptoms seem to be related to gastroesophageal reflux disease.
I suggest using antacids such as Maloox.
I also recommend using PPI medication to lower the acidity in the stomach such as Omeprazole.
