Suggest Treatment For EFRS While Having Bronchiectasis
Hi, I believe I have easoniphilic fungal sinusitus. I have fungus balls but my doctor won t even look at my photos because he says it makes him heave! He put me on 4 weeks of antibiotics and as you can imagine, it s now even worse. I can use half a box of tissues in the morning just to get out of bed and go to work. Are there I have aspergillus in my blood and I have severe bronchiectasis. I am on itraconzole and this is working well. What do you recommend for my EFRS?
You may need to consider a second opinion from another ENT doctor to determine if this condition is present. Diagnosis normally requires testing including: (a) IgE levels- this is immunoglobulin E which is normally elevated in persons with allergies
(b)Allergy testing
(c)imaging such as CT
(d)a sample is also required to go to the lab to confirm the presence of the fungus and look for any other changes
Treatment would involve the use of steroids, other immunotherapy along with anti fungals such as the itraconazole that you are using. Steroids can be added to this.
I hope this helps
